Inventurus helps mammoth hospital system streamline decoding thereby increasing revenue.

Customer Profile:
The customer is an 800 + acute care hospital and health system, with over 4000 staff members and more than 1000 volunteers. The hospital ranks among the top 5% in the United States.

Customer issues:
At the time Inventurus began the engagement with customer was facing multiple issues, predominantly because of a serious lack of coders. This led to an increase in DSO and continuous loss of revenue. They relied heavily on expensive temporary staff, apart from maintaining high-priced in-house coders. Further more, there were quality issues, which stemmed from illegible and incomplete doctor notes, which were being down-coded.

Inventurus Solution
Inventurus set up a dedicated inpatient coding delivery team based in Hyderabad, India. A team of US based coders was also set up to provide inpatient and out patient coding services which surpassed client quality metrics; this team was led by medical doctors certified in AAPC CPC and CPC-H.

Inventurus developed a detailed training module in conjunction with customer requirements, thus providing a structured delivery model with robust processes, detailed documentation, six sigma quality and audits.

Customer benefits:
Inventurus ensured that the offshore and onshore teams worked seamlessly, resulting in 45% saving over internal and external coders with increased quality and shorter turnarounds. The customer was able to eliminate costly recruiting and training, reducing labor costs in one strike. They immediately saw an increased accuracy, which resulted in direct growth in revenue.

This earned a 98% quality rating from the customer, which out paced their previous experience with US based temps. Once the process was streamlined, the customer saw transparency and a steady stream of reliable feedback and reports, which brought in tremendous results in terms of offering superior service across departments and levels in the hospital system.
